What are your hours, and your rental hours?
Our operating hours are 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, seven days a week from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Enjoy Boat Rentals now offers hourly rentals with a 3-hour minimum, giving you the flexibility to enjoy the water on your own schedule. Whether you want a short cruise or a full-day adventure, you can choose the rental length that works best for you.
All rentals begin and end between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM. Please plan to arrive 20–30 minutes early for check-in, orientation, and a quick safety review before departure. The latest rental start time is 3:00 PM to ensure all boats return by closing.
Looking for a longer adventure? Multi-day rentals are available upon request and subject to approval. Contact us for details and availability — we’ll help you plan the perfect day on the water with Enjoy Boat Rentals.
Who can rent a boat?
To rent a boat, you must be at least 25 years old, have a valid credit card, and possess prior boating experience. Safety is our top priority, and we want to ensure that all renters are confident and comfortable operating a vessel.
If you plan to access Lake Michigan, a NASBLA-approved boating safety certificate is required by law. You may still enjoy Spring Lake and the Grand River without this certification.
Please note that all boats are GPS-tracked for safety and compliance. Entering Lake Michigan without a valid NASBLA certificate on file will result in forfeiture of your full deposit and may lead to additional fines or legal action.
How do payments and deposits work?
All rentals are paid in full at the time of booking to secure your reservation. We do not require a separate deposit.
The only additional charges that may apply are for optional add-ons (such as tubes or other equipment) and the fuel used during your trip. After your rental, our team will refuel the boat for you and simply charge for the fuel used plus a small service fee.
We accept credit card payments for all bookings, and reservations cannot be held without payment. Booking early ensures you’ll have your preferred boat and time slot reserved for your day on the water with Enjoy Boat Rentals.
Where do your rentals operate and what waterways can I explore?
Enjoy Boat Rentals operates from Coastal Zone Marina, located at 1719 Pennoyer Ave., Grand Haven, MI. We offer dedicated customer parking and easy access to some of West Michigan’s most scenic waterways.
From our marina, you can explore Spring Lake and the Grand River, perfect for cruising, swimming, or relaxing on the water. Lake Michigan access is also available when conditions are safe — this requires no active Small Craft Advisory and a NASBLA-approved boating safety certificate for the operator.
All boats are GPS-tracked for safety and compliance, helping us ensure every renter remains within permitted areas and enjoys a worry-free experience.
Whether you’re planning a calm day on the lake or an adventure along the Grand River, Enjoy Boat Rentals is your starting point for the perfect day on the water.
What should I bring with me for my rental?
Please bring a valid photo ID and the credit card used for your booking for verification at check-in. If you plan to operate on Lake Michigan, a NASBLA-approved boating safety certificate is required by law.
We also recommend bringing your personal essentials such as:
- Towels, sunscreen, sunglasses, and a hat
- Snacks and drinks (coolers are welcome, but no glass containers)
- Swimwear and a change of clothes if you plan to swim or enjoy water activities
While we provide loaner life jackets, availability in all sizes isn’t guaranteed. We recommend bringing properly fitted life jackets for young children.
You’re welcome to bring fishing gear, but please note that cleaning fish on board is not permitted.
If you plan to enjoy tubing or other water sports, only company-provided tubes and tow ropes may be used. Personal tubes are not allowed. However, experienced boaters are welcome to bring their own approved water sports equipment, such as skis, wakeboards, or wakeboard ropes.
Whether you’re planning a relaxing cruise or a day full of adventure, we’ll make sure you have everything you need for a great experience with Enjoy Boat Rentals.
What if I arrive/return late?
Please plan to arrive 20–30 minutes early for check-in, orientation, and a smooth departure. Your rental begins at the scheduled start time — not upon arrival — so arriving late will shorten your time on the water. We’re unable to adjust or extend rental times for late arrivals.
Boats must be returned on or before the scheduled end time. Late returns disrupt our daily schedule and delay the next group of renters. A $25 late fee will be charged for every 15 minutes past the scheduled return time.
This policy helps us maintain timely operations and ensures every guest enjoys a great experience with Enjoy Boat Rentals.
What is the check in/out process?
Check-in and check-out take place at Coastal Zone Marina, located at 1719 Pennoyer Avenue, Grand Haven, MI. Customer parking is available right at the marina for your convenience.
Please plan to arrive 20–30 minutes before your scheduled start time to allow for a smooth check-in process. Our team will review safety procedures, explain boat operations, and answer any last-minute questions before departure.
All guests who will be on board must complete a waiver before the boat can be sent out. To save time, we recommend having everyone in your group complete their waivers in advance.
At the end of your rental, we’ll assist with docking, inspect the boat, and record fuel usage. The check-out process typically takes about 10–15 minutes.
We’ll make sure everything goes smoothly so you can focus on what matters most — enjoying your time on the water with Enjoy Boat Rentals.
What is the weather policy?
At Enjoy Boat Rentals, safety is always our top priority. If weather conditions on the day of your rental are deemed unsafe for boating — such as storms, lightning, high winds, or an active Small Craft Advisory — you will be allowed to reschedule your rental for another available date at no additional charge.
When a Small Craft Advisory is in effect, boats are not permitted on Lake Michigan. However, you may still use your rental on Spring Lake and the Grand River, weather permitting.
If you choose to go out on a day when rain or changing weather is in the forecast, that is done at your own risk. Once the boat leaves the dock, the rental is considered final, and no refunds or reschedules will be issued.
We monitor local weather closely and will communicate with renters if unsafe conditions arise. Final weather-related decisions are made at the discretion of EBR staff.
What is the fuel policy?
Each rental begins with a full tank of fuel, and you’ll be charged only for the fuel used during your trip, plus a $10 refueling service fee. When you return, our team will measure how much fuel was burned and charge the total to the card on file.
If you prefer to refuel the boat yourself, you’re welcome to do so — simply provide a same-day fuel receipt showing a full fill-up upon return.
We keep the process simple so you can focus on enjoying your time on the water with Enjoy Boat Rentals.
Is boating experience required?
Yes. Prior boating experience is required to rent from Enjoy Boat Rentals. While our team provides a full walkthrough of boat operations and safety procedures before departure, renters must already be familiar with basic boating skills such as handling, docking, and navigation. Our staff are not permitted to accompany renters during operation.
How many people can each boat hold?
Our boats can accommodate between 8 and 12 passengers, depending on the model. Each listing on our website includes the maximum capacity for that vessel. If you’re unsure which boat best fits your group, contact our team — we’ll be happy to help you choose the right one.
Can we bring alcohol on board?
Alcohol is permitted for passengers of legal drinking age, but the boat operator must remain sober at all times. Impaired operation is strictly prohibited and may result in immediate termination of the rental without refund. Please drink responsibly and help keep everyone safe on the water.
What happens if the boat is damaged during my rental?
Each boat is inspected before and after every rental. Renters are responsible for any damage that occurs during their rental period. If damage is found upon return, repair or replacement costs will be assessed and charged accordingly. Our team takes time to review basic safety and operating procedures before departure to help ensure a safe experience for everyone.
Do you offer any discounts?
Yes! We’re proud to offer a 10% discount for military members, first responders, and teachers as a thank-you for your service. To receive this discount, please call us before booking, and we’ll provide a custom discount code to use at checkout.
